Computer Port Interface (CPI)
The Integrated Digital System (IDS) Computer Port Interface option (CPI) is a proprietary link that provides a means of controlling the IDS from a host computer. CPI also provides a way for the IDS to report extension status and call detail information to the host computer on a real time basis. The means of communication is an asynchronous RS-232 link transmitting ASCII characters between the host computer and the IDS.
